You can also use standard email clients (e.g. on a phone, tablet, PC etc) to access your email

with full automatic synchronisation of messages and folders across them all (including webmail).

To do this you will need to configure your clients with the following settings.

You may find your client uses slightly different wording to that shown below
so you may need to be a bit liberal with how you match the settings up.

if you're having trouble setting this up as it can get a bit complicated!


Name: <YOUR FULL NAME>
(this will appear in the From: field on all outgoing email)
E-Mail Address: <YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS>
Username: <YOUR USERNAME>
Password: <YOUR PASSWORD>

Outgoing Mail Server: secure.newtonnet.co.uk
Outgoing Mail Server Type: SMTP
Port: 587 (port 25 also works but many ISPs block this)
(some clients may insist on port 465 - this is also supported)
Secure Connection: Yes (STARTTLS, SSL/TLS or AUTO methods are all fine)
Authentication: Yes (using the username and password above)

Incoming Mail Server: secure.newtonnet.co.uk
Incoming Mail Server Type: IMAP
Port: 143 (some clients may insist on using port 993 - this is also fine)
Secure Connection: Yes (STARTTLS, SSL/TLS or AUTO methods are all fine)
Authentication: Yes (using the username and password above)

Special Folders:
(you won't need to set these on most clients but listed here in case you do)
Sent: Sent
 Trash: Trash
Junk: Spam
